Tequila needs to be made in Tequila, Mexico to be authentic. Tequila is located very close to Jalisco and Guadalararija. It is a distillate made from the blue agave plant. Blue agave’s look like huge pineapples. The portion of the plant underground is the Pina.

Upon harvesting, the Pinas are transported to large ovens where they are roasted to break down inside into a simple fructose. The pinas are then shredded and the extracted agave juice is moved into a large oak tank or stainless-steel vats. Fermentation begins at this point typically lasting a few days.
